Kozhikode, August 24: A local court today ordered that Abdul Halim, an accused in the March 2003 twin bomb blast case here, be remanded to five days police custody.
The Judicial First Class Magistrate Court’s order came after the Crime Branch officials sought Halim’s custody for some more days to question him into the twin bomb blasts in two bus stations here in which two persons, including a police constable, were injured.
Halim, who was arrested in Kochi on July 22 this year in connection with bomb blasts in the District Collectorate there, was brought here after he admitted his involvement in the blasts here.
The court had remanded him to 10 days police custody as part of the ongoing investigation by the Crime Branch sleuths.
Halim, said to be an expert in devising crude bombs, is expected to be taken to his native place Kannur, where he developed close contacts with the elusive T Naseer, who allegedly plotted a bomb blast here.
