TVV plans dharnas at collectorates on aug. 8

The Telangana Vidhyarthi Vedika (TVV) has decided to lay siege to district Collectorates on August 8 all over the State, demanding that the government solve the problems in government schools and colleges.

Releasing a pamphlet in this connection on Wednesday, TVV State president M. Ramesh demanded that the State government increase mess charges on par with spiraling prices in the market. He demanded that the government take immediate steps to provide drinking water and toilets for girl students in the schools and colleges across the State. He also urged the State government to release pending scholarships, fill vacant teacher and lecturer posts in the schools and junior colleges.

TVV general secretary T. Venkat demanded that the Centre and State government initiate steps to abolish privatization and commercialization of education system in the country. Appealing to the government to withdraw move to cancel some sections in the Junior colleges in the rural areas, he threatened State-wide agitation if the government failed to concede these demands.
