Hyderabad, February 06: Even as Indian students affected by the shutdown of the now infamous Tri-Valley University, run from pillar to post to save their academic careers, a number of students remain without any legal assistance from any quarters.
After applying for fresh admission in other universities and facing rejection, students are now left in the lurch.
Many students who went to study in the Tri Valley university, have loans to a tune of Rs 6 to 10 lakh back home.
They even find it difficult to get legal advice as the lawyers charge exorbitantly with fees ranging from 5,000 dollars to 10,000 dollars. “How can I consult an advocate or come back to India? My family has taken so much of loan.
Even to get admission in another university here we need to get out of the legal tangle here. Not everyone can afford to pay the exorbitant lawyers’ fees,” P. Lakshmikant, a student of the university says.
Students’ dilemma over options of fresh admissions, deportation and coming back home are soon fading away as many have realised that they have no other option but to sit back and wait for things to unfold on their own.
