TVS plans to sell 2 lakh Ntorq 125 scooters in FY19

Hyderabad: Two and three wheeler manufacturer TVS Motor Company is aiming to sell 2 lakh units of its newly launched ‘app-enabled scooter’, Ntorq 125, in financial year 2018-19, a senior company official said today.

“We plan to sell about two lakh units of Ntorq 125 in the next financial year and it will definitely gain us momentum in our overall volume in scooters,” said Aniruddha Haldar, vice-president (marketing), commuter motorcycles, scooters and corporate brand, TVS.

Designed for the youth, Ntorq 125 has been developed based on the TVS Racing pedigree.

“This marks the launch of an exclusive technology platform TVS SmartXonnect – making it India s first connected scooter,” he added.

The Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad today launched an incubator programme to groom startups in the area of chip design.

Fabless Chip Design Incubator Program, or FabCI, will be based in the IIT Hyderabad campus for fabless IC startups in India, a release from IIT Hyderabad said here.

“This incubator program will also be a shot in the arm to the ‘Make in India’ campaign and help India become a global hub for chip design,” IIT Hyderabad director Prof UB Desai said here.

The Fabless Chip Design Incubator is a flagship programme being executed with the support of Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology and in partnership with Cadence Design Systems, Inc., a provider of electronic design automation (EDA) software, hardware and IP.
