TVS to be launched today in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, June 18:Even before the dust has settled down following the turmoil in Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS), a new outfit, which has come forward to fight for the cause of separate Telangana in the name of Telangana Vimochana Samiti (TVS) will be launched at a public meeting at Hari Hara Kala Bhavan here on Thursday.

Leader of TRS group in Legislative Council K. Dilip Kumar who had distanced himself from the party after elections is the backbone of the organisation, but he denied that he would head it.

Mr. Dilip Kumar announced that the programmes of the new party would be guided by an organising committee, which would have a general secretary. He also stated that it would be a non-political organisation, which would not fight elections.

Veteran freedom fighter Konda Laxman Bapuji would announce the launch of the party and also introduce its flag.

Civil rights leader G. Haragopal would deliver the inaugural address and senior TVS leader V. Prakash would read out the declaration drafted for the occasion. Apart from Mr. Dilip Kumar, other speakers would include Telangana lyricists B.S. Ramulu and Guda Anjaiah and MLC K. Nageswar.

TVS leaders said neither the rebels of the TRS nor academics and intellectuals associated with that party were invited for the meeting, but a broad-based meeting with representatives of all organisations, which fought for separate Telangana State would be held later.

TRS president K. Chandrasekhar Rao would also be invited then.
