Dhaka: A woman journalist working with a private news channel was hacked to death at her home by a sharp edged weapon by unknown assailants, Media reported.
The incident took place in Bangladesh’s Pabna District. The victim identified as Subarna Nodi aged around 32, was a correspondent of private news channel Ananda TV and also worked for the Daily Jagroto Bangla newspaper, PTI reported.
The victim has a daughter of 9 yrs old and had recently filed divorce from her Husband.
According to media reports, a group comprising of 10-12 assailants arrived at her home around 10.5 pm.
The assailants immediately attacked her when she answered the doorbell rung by them and fled the spot said Pabna Additional Superintendent of Police Ibne Mizan said.
Though she was rushed to a near by hospitals by some locals she was declared brought dead said the Police.
The Police has now initiated manhunt to nab the murderers said Additional SP Gautam Kumar Biswas.
Meanwhile other Journalists in the region condemned the killing and demanded murderers to be immediately brought to justice.
