Turkey ‘struggling to overcome the trauma’ of 2016 coup attempt: CG Arda Ulutas

Hyderabad: Turkish Consulate in Hyderabad organizes a memorial event to pay tribute to the martyrs who lost their lives in last year’s failed coup attempted by FETO.

It may be recalled that more than 250 people, many of them civilians, were killed in the failed coup on July 15, 2016, when a group of rogue soldiers commandered tanks, warplanes and helicopters, bombing the parliament and attempting to overthrow the government.

Counsul General of Turkey in Hyderabad Arda Ulutas addressed the gathering and observed one minute of silence in the memory of the people who lost their lives. He said the people of Turkey are still struggling to overcome the trauma of this existential threat. Uttas gave a detailed account of the events that happened on July 15, 2016, followed by a description of the ongoing investigation and national state of emergency.
