Hyderabad: Turkey is keen to have direct flights to Hyderabad to connect to south India, said its consul general here.
Arda Ulutas, who took over in November last, on Thursday called on Telangana’s Industries Minister Jupally Krishna Rao.
Ulutas told the minister that his country is interested in making Hyderabad a direct destination which could connect to the south. Presently, there are no direct flights from Turkey to south India and all flights are routed through Delhi or Mumbai.
He also informed about the readiness to sign the sister cities agreement with Telangana, said a statement from the minister’s office.
The consul general said his country is looking for cooperation in the potential areas of construction, housing, metro and railway system etc.
He said he was keen to bring a delegation of Turkish construction union and exporters to Telangana to explore the possibilities of working together in several fields. He said a beginning would be made with micro, small and medium enterprises.
