Tummala to meet Gadkari on roads development

Roads and buildings Minister T Nageswar Rao today directed the officials to expeditiously complete the works related to expansion of state roads to national level. It was decided to urge Union Minister Nithin Gadkari to give permission on priority basis to develop six state level roads of 1018 stretch as national roads. They include a stretch of 230 km connecting Hyderabad, Medak, Nizamabad, Adilabad districts with NH-61, 133 km stretch connecting Hyderabad and Bijapur in Karnataka through Moinabad, Chevella, Manneguda and Kodangal to Karnataka border, 220 km stretch from Kodad to Jadcherla, 110 km stretch from Nirmal to Jagital, 160 km stretch from Aswaraopet to Suryapet, 165 km stretch from Karimnagar to Yellareddy Pitalam.
He asked the completion of ongoing works by 2016. The minster asked the officials to prepare plans to ask Gadkari to give priority to develop these roads as national roads.
He also directed the completion of construction of Eturu Nagaram bridge on Godavari by next May also Illendu and Gundala road works by next July. He also asked the officials to expedite double lane roads from district headquarters to mandals through Rs 10,800 cr and complete bridge works on Godavari, Krishna and Manjeera and that of Godavari Pushkaralu by June. The government will blacklist the contractors for poor standards and dereliction of works, he warned. (NSS)
