Tummala announces Rs.50 Cr funds for Patencheru

Hyderabad: Roads and Buildings Minister Tummala Nageshwara Rao on Sunday promised Rs. 50 crore funds for the development of Patencheru Assembly constituency.

Tummala, along with Irrigation Minister T. Harish Rao, laid foundation stone for various developmental works worth Rs. 47 lakh in Jannaram mandal of Medak district. Later, he also distributed gas connections under Deepam scheme among 1,290 poor beneficiaries. Banks loans of Rs. 1.55 were also given to 55 Self Help Groups of women.

Speaking on the occasion, Tummala said that Hyderabad-Bhainsa highway would be developed as National Highway. He said that the TRS Government was working for the welfare of all sections of the society, especially farmers. He said that the government has waived off Rs. 17,000 crore crop loans and provided input subsidy to farmers. He said 46,000 tanks and lakes would be cleaned in the next three years and so far, nearly 7,000 lakes have already been revived. He said that the State Government was taking steps for better utilisation of Godavari River water.

Addresing the meeting, Harish Rao announced that 50,000 gas cylinders would be distributed in Medak district on the occasion of Bathukamma festival. He said a market yard on 14 acres of land would be constructed in Medak at a cost of Rs. 70 crore.

The meeting was also addressed by MLAs Maheshwar Reddy and K Prabhakar and MLC Bhupal Reddy. (INN)
