The present uncertainty and confusion prevailing in the state is mainly because of the demand for bifurcation of the state on one hand and maintaining status quo on the other hand and because of the agitations, observed Tulasi Reddy, Chairman of the State 20-point Programme and Spokesman of Congress Party.
Speaking to the media on Thursday, Tulasi Reddy asserted that personally he was for a united state and would fight till the end in this regard. The talk about the state being bifurcated is only speculation and a figment of imagination of some, he added.
Referring to hike in railway fares, Tulasi Reddy pointed out that for over a decade there was no hike in charges which derailed the laying of new tracks and construction of bridges. To overcome this problem and take up laying new railway tracks etc, the hike in fares had become inevitable, he added.
Condemning the allegations being made against the Chief Minister by the TDP President Chandrababu Naidu with regard to hike in power tariff, Tulasi Reddy said that when compared with other states, the power tariff in Andhra Pradesh was very meager. He hoped the TDP Chief would not indulge in such loose talk. (NSS).
