The tug of war between Telangana and Andhra governments for control over minority institutions intensified when the Telangana government prevented the implementation of the GO issued by the Andhra Pradesh government. The government of Andhra Pradesh has appointed IPS officer Shaikh Mohammed Iqbal as Vice chairman and Managing Director Andhra Pradesh Minority Finance Corporation by issuing GO RT 176. He is presently servicing as Commissioner Minority Welfare Andhra Pradesh.
On the request of Prof. S A Shukoor, Andhra Pradesh Government had relieved him from the charge and appointed Shaikh Mohammed Iqbal on his place. As Shaikh Mohammed Iqbal was about to take charge of his post as per schedule Secretary Minority Welfare Telangana Ahmed Nadeem intervened and prevented implementation of orders and directed Prof S A Shukoor to remain on the post till the split of the corporation.
