TUFIDC funds for towns: KTR

Municipal Minister KT Rama Rao today said Telangana Urban Finance Infrastructure Development Corporation (TUFIDC) will provide funds for development of towns in addition to the funds being offered.

He directed the Collectors and district officials to prepare a plan of action for allround development of the villages in all districts. During a video conference with collectors and joint collectors from secretariat here the minster asked them to adopt a village and work for giving face lift to each town. Prepare a special road map for development of the municipalities and every district should develop with better facilities he said. The existing 39 per cent of population in the towns will rise to 45 per cent through rapid development activities with new municipalities to be formed.

Take Siddipet district as role model and compete to develop your districts through the funds from the TUFIDC he said. KTR asked for steps for junction to junction roads, model markets, parks, foot paths, bus bays, development of sewage lines and cemeteries. Besides making field level visits for speedy completion of works on time the collectors should hold a review meeting every week, he said. (NSS)
