Hyderabad, April 11: Telangana Telugu Desam Party (TTDP) leaders have decided to follow the instructions of party president N Chandrababu Naidu and undertake poll campaigning in Kadapa district in favour of the the party candidates.
“We are in the TDP and follow the instructions given by the party president,” senior TDP leader S Venugopalachary told reporters here on Sunday.
He said that Naidu had already asked the party MLAs to leave for Kadapa district.
The Telangana TDP Forum would meet in a couple of days and discuss the party president’s instructions, he hastened to add. TTDP leaders shelved their plan of bus yatra in Telangana since they were asked to proceed to Kadapa for election campaigning.
Meanwhile, Venugopalachary advised TRS chief K Chandrasekhara Rao not to criticise the TDP or its chief.
“If you are willing to merge the TRS with the Congress, your free to do so. The TDP has no objection to it. But, you should not level baseless allegations against Naidu or TDP in order to move closer to the Congress,” he advised Rao.
On Saturday, the TRS chief ridiculed TD chief Naidu undertaking a padayatra in support of Anna Hazare.
“Hazare will commit suicide if he knows about the padayatra of Naidu against corruption,” Rao said.
