Subhashini, a student of Guttikonda Sriramulu Teacher Training College on Saturday committed suicide by setting herself ablaze at her home.
Police said Subhashini belonging to Timmareddipalem under Dagadarthi mandal in the district has been undergoing training in Guttikonda Sriramulu Teacher Training College in Buchchireddipalem. On Saturday morning, Subhashini allegedly poured kerosene on her body and set herself ablaze.
On seeing the girl in flames, her family members rushed her to the Ruia Hospital at Tirupati where she succumbed to injuries while being treated. She was allegedly being humiliated in her class by her teachers and other students over her poor performance.
Dejected by this, she committed suicide, her relatives said. (NSS)
