Hyderabad: The arguments over the ongoing TSRTC strike were adjourned once again at Telangana High court on Thursday till November 11, 2019. The Chief secretary SK Joshi, the principal Secretary of finance department K Ramakrishna Rao and GHMC Commissioner Lokesh Kumar appeared before the court in compliance of its earlier order.
While hearing the case, the high court has expressed its shock over the additional counter filed by the principal secretary to finance department of the state, for its contradictory nature. Referring to the statement of the principal secretary that the additional counter affidavit was filed after the complete scrutiny of records, a division bench of the high court said that the earlier counter affidavit filed by him was full of contradictions. It wondered if the first affidavit was filed without proper scrutiny. At one point, the division bench said that it had not seen such an irresponsible IAS officer before. Citing that it wanted to end the ongoing strike, the court said that neither the state government nor the union leaders were willing to take steps to end the strike and reduce the problems faced by the people.
Arguing the case on behalf of the central government, the newly appointed solicitor general of India N Rajeshwar rao said that the division of the APSRTC was not completed so far and added that the TSRTC didn’t have any legal status. He also told the court that the central government has 33 percent share in the APSRTC and the TSRTC.
