Senior Congress leader and former MP of Visakhapatnam Tikkavarapu Subbarami Reddy (TSR) here on Tuesday favoured Vizag as the new capital of the residuary State of Andhra Pradesh. To this effect, TSR submitted a memorandum to the Centre appointed Sivarama Krishnan Committee which was asked to select a suitable place for the new capital of AP.
TSR, in his memorandum, stated that Visakhapatnam is the biggest town after Hyderabad in the united State and all the needed infrastructural facilities can be created in Vizag on par with Hyderabad. Apart from needed land, plenty of water resources, road, rail and air transport facilities are available in Vizag only, he added. (NSS)
