TSJAC blames KCR for MLC poll debacle

Hyderabad, March 19: The alleged cross-voting by the TRS legislators leading to the defeat of the party nominee had a section of Telangana students up in arms. They suspect that the party chief is behind the defeat of the nominee as they believe that he allowed himself to be purchased by members of the Congress.

The Telangana Students Joint Action Committee (Independent) yesterday alleged that TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao was hand in glove with the Congress and had been diluting the movement for his political gains.

The student activists today took out a rally from the B-hostel to the Arts College in Osmania University and later burnt the effigy of Chandrasekhar Rao protesting his ‘betrayal’ of the Telangana movement. TSJAC (independent) co-chairman V Pulla Rao Yadav alleged that the TRS chief was suppressing the BC, SC, ST and minority people of the region.

“Chandrasekhar Rao should be blamed for the loss of TRS candidate who hails from a minority community,” he said.

The student activists said the TRS chief was diluting the separate Telangana movement by colluding with the Congress.

The students demanded suspension of the three TRS MLAs from the party for allegedly cross-voting during the MLC polls.

Meanwhile, the condition of three students, who have been on an indefinite fast since yesterday demanding introduction of a separate Telangana Bill in the Parliament, worsened today. Doctors advised administering of saline to them but the students refused to take treatment.
