Hyderabad: 13 Narayana Junior Colleges and 16 Sri Chaitanya Junior Colleges have been penalised by Telangana State Board of Intermediate Education (TSBIE) for violation of norms. This was revealed by A. Ashok, the secretary of Board of Intermediate Education, on Wednesday.
As reported by DC, a fine of Rs. 62.72 lakh was imposed on Narayana Junior colleges while Rs. 1.4 crore was imposed on Sri Chaitanya Junior Colleges. They allegedly indulged in irregularities like unauthorised additional classrooms and poor laboratories among others. The inspection was carried out by the vigilance department in May.
Until they pay the fine, the penalised corporate colleges are barred from registering for the affiliation process. After payment of fine, they will be allowed to apply for the affiliation process upto August 10.
