The Telangana State Government today urged the Centre to extend assistance and construct 330 godowns in the State to push its storage capacity.
Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao, who is in the national capital, called on Union Agriculture Minister Radha Mohan Singh and appealed to him to take up scientific construction of godowns in the State. “The State Government plans to provide improved storage facility to the farmers, who can store their produce and sell at better support price in the market.
The Union Minister assured Harish Rao that he would look into the issue. Telangana Government’s special representative in Delhi S Venugopala Chary, TRS parliament members were also present in the meeting. (NSS)
