To give fillip to power sector in the State, Telangana Electricity department today signed a pact with NTPC and Singareni Collieries company in the presence of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao at camp office here.
The officials concerned made two agreements to purchase 1600 MW power from NTPC Ramagundam plant and 1200 MW from Singareni’s Jaipur plant. The Singareni offered to supply 1200 MW power by next April. TS Transco exchanged agreements for purchasing power from these two companies based on prices recommended by Central Electricity Regulatory Commission.
Those present were Transco CMD Prabhakar Rao, NTPC General Managers CV Anand, SK Khar, Additional General Manager K Sudhershan. (NSS)
