TS salutes Dr Ambedkar

Telangana State on Tuesday saluted Architect of Indian Constitution Dr Babasaheb Bheemrao Ambedkar on the occasion of his 125th Birth Anniversary.
On the occasion, all the districts wore festive look with decorations with flowers and flags. While the Union Government has declared a national holiday for government offices, political leaders of all parties paid respects to him at various places.
The KCR Government made special arrangements to celebrate the occasion on a grand scale across the State. Addressing a public meeting at Tank Bund in the State capital, Deputy Chief Ministers Kadiam Srihari and Mahmood Ali felicitated two “brave persons” Anand and Purna for scaling Mount Everest. Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and some of his cabinet colleagues paid rich tributes to the Architect of the Constitution. Speaker S Madhusudana Chary offered floral tributes to Ambedkar on the Assembly premises.
Telangana State Congress chief Uttam Kumar Reddy, CLP leader K Jana Reddy, Shabbir Ali and Mallu Ravi paid floral tributes to Ambedkar at Tank Bund. TDP leaders L Ramana, Errabelli Dayakar Rao, Revanth Reddy, Sujana Chowdhury and others offered tributes to Babasaheb at NTR Trust Bhavan. Telangana BJP president G Kishen Reddy, after offering floral tributes said Ambedkar discouraged change of religions. Though freedom was achieved long ago, members of SC and ST communities in the country remained poor and not developed up to the mark. The BJP leader said Dr Ambedkar’s words are a source of inspiration for the BJP to work for the cause of deprived and destitute classes, he noted.
A large number of Ambedkarites thronged the Tank Bund and offered floral tributes to Father of the Constitution, to mark the occasion. Leaders of various political parties followed suit at respective districts. (NSS)
