TS represents to center to amend RTE Act

Hyderabad: Govt. of Telangana is seriously considering making a representation to Central Govt. for amending RTE Act of 2012. It may be noted that under this act compulsory admission of poor students has been made obligatory for all the educational institutions. This act has not been fully implemented for paucity of funds. High Court of Hyderabad has recently issued orders for implementing this act from the next academic year. Govt. of Telangana pleads that it has shortage of funds and hence would make a request to the Central Govt. for relaxing this rule.

The contention of the Govt. is that there are many seats in Govt. schools and there is no need for the students to seek admissions in private schools.
