TS Political parties now busy finalizing candidates for LS Polls

Hyderabad: With the declaration of election schedule for Telangana state, the key political parties in the state have become busy to finalize their candidates.

The ruling TRS is engaged in an exercise to select the candidates who would win with huge majority, as it is sure of winning almost all the seats. The TRS chief and chief Minister KCR is reportedly completing the exercise of finalizing the names of candidates. He has already indicated that barring three, four candidates, all the other sitting Members will get the tickets to contest the elections. Now, the exercise is only about the three, four candidates who have to be replaced by nominees who would win the huge majority. KCR is likely to finalize the candidates in two, three days.

The main opposition congress Party has almost finalized the names of its contesting candidates except for two MP seats that fall under GHMC limits, Malkajgiri and Hyderabad. The party has almost finalized the names of its candidates for Secunderabad and Chevella seats. While former MP M Anjan Kumar Yadav is likely to contest from Secunderabad seat, the sitting MP of Chevella and the party leader Konda Visweswar Reddy will contest from the same seat.

As far as the Malkajgiri seat is concerned, the names of several party leaders including its working president and former MLA A. Revanth Reddy is doing the rounds. The other contenders for the seat are the former MP Sarvey Satyanarayana and Kuna Srisailam Goud. Malkajgiri is not only the most populous seat in the entire country but also had voters from all sections of society. The party is likely to finalize the name of one of the three leaders for the seat. In the case of Hyderabad, the party has almost decided to field a Muslim leader against MIM leader and the sitting MP Asaduddin Owaisi. The names of a couple of leaders are under consideration, it is said.

The party leadership is likely to finalize the seats to be co0ntested and the candidates in two, three days. Whether the party will have any tie-up with the left parties is to be seen.

The BJP is also expected to finalize the names of its candidates shortly. The party is saying that it will go to polls within any alliance with other parties.
