TS Phule ideals: Harish

Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao today said that Golden Telangana is possible only when the poor get handful of work. To mark 192nd birth anniversary of Jyothibha Phule in Sidhipet he paid floral tributes to the social worker who got reforms for the cause of the poor and uplift of the destitute.

Announcing to launch a residential school at Chintamadaka the native place of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, Harish said that Siddipet Women Library will be named after Savitri Bai Phule. KCR Government is according top priority for the poor welfare and development of community based professions in the state he said. Telangana emulates the ideas of Phule and the birth anniversary is being conducted as official program as per KCR directive. A big plan is on cards to prepare a special plan for BCs development which is the aim of the chief minister. Stating that Phule was noted for starting a first women school in the country and Telangana Government has launched 500 Gurukul Schools and 119 Gurukul BC Residential English Medium schools including five alone in Siddipet mandal. He also said that Rs 30 cr will be spent for Gurukul School in Sidhipet soon. He launched a Gurukul Girls School in Ensanpally by spending Rs14.50 cr Nabard funds. Harish listed out the welfare schemes and programs in the state. He claimed that Telangana launched Rs 4000 cr worth sheep scheme to benefit Yadavas in the state and it was appreciated by Congress leader Revanna from Karnataka.

We have cancelled the loans obtained by the weavers and providing material with 50 per cent subsidy he said adding that fishermen community is being encouraged by dropping fish seed into lakes, water bodies and ponds and spending Rs 1050 cr for their welfare and spent Rs 250 cr for Nayi Brahmins

Kalyana Lakshmi and Shadi Mubarak schemes are helping the poor families to perform marriage. He appealed to the farmers to sell their maize for Rs 1425 per quintal against the market rate of Rs 1200 to Rs 1250 through procurement centers. (NSS)
