The Telangana Government is likely to move Supreme Court against the Centre to get its rightful share of Krishna waters to the State. The State government today expressed its displeasure at the Centre for its reported comments that the issue of water distribution will be confined to States only.
“We condemn the Centre for the comments which deprive Telangana State of its share of waters from the Krishna River”, he stated. The Centre failed to keep its promise on sharing of Krishna waters. TRS MP B Vinod Kumar on Tuesday condemned the way the Centre was denying share to Telangana State. “When we met Union Water Resources Minister in Delhi, Uma Bharathi said justice would be done to the Telangana State on the river water issue. But now the Centre was adopting dual standards and denying our share”, he deplored.
“With no other go, we will fight at any level and move the apex court of the country”, Vinod Kumar stated. He also alleged that the Centre succumbed to the pressure mounted by Karnataka and Maharashtra governments in this regard. The partiality being shown by the Centre will be exposed at a right platform, he said. He also accused the Centre of deceiving the people of the State despite its promise of doing justice with regard to river water sharing among the riparian States. (NSS)
