Telangana Government received three organs from S Vijaya Mohan, a brain dead bank employ of Rayapudi village of Tullur Mandal in Guntur district, through “Jeevandan” – a Cadaver Transplantation program.
Vijay Mohan an employ of SBH in Guntur suffered sever headache was admitted to KIMS in Hyderabad by his son Ravi Kumar on June 6 for the treatment. A panel of doctors including Transplant Coordinator Dr Ashok Reddy declared Vijay Mohan brain dead as he was found to have intracranial aneurysm on June 15.
On brief counseling on the importance of organ donation, his son accepted to donate his father’s three limbs including two kidneys and a liver with a noble cause to protect lives of other patients.
With this donation, Jeevandan program collected so far, 613 organs from 134 donors. Jeevandan appreciated the family members of Vijaya Mohan for their kind gesture by donating organs and saving three lives of patients suffering from organ failure. (NSS)
