Hyderabad: The Joint Action Committee for Million March has announced to observe ‘Save Constitution Day’ in the Telangana State on January 25.
According to JAC, the move is an attempt to create further awareness about the spirit of the constitution and the central government’s decision to implement NRC, NPR and CAA.
Addressing the media at Media Plus Auditorium on Tuesday afternoon, JAC Convenor Mr. Mushtaq Malik said “The JAC will soon after announcing the date for Million March in Andhra Pradesh against the implementation of NRC, NPR and CAA. The march will be on the lines of the Million March held in Hyderabad on January 4.”
A door to door awareness campaign against the misuse of NRC will also be carried out by the JAC, he said. Mr. Mushtaq Malik thanked the Hyderabadis for participating in the Million March and making it one of the historic and peaceful rallies of Hyderabad.”
He said the Million March movement will continue until the government rolls back its dark and unconstitutional laws that have severely affected the peace and tranquillity of the country, and shrunk its secular character.
The JAC demanded the State government and the State Home Ministry withdraw the cases booked in connection with the Million March. He said “despite such peaceful rally with no effect to the law and order of the city, the police have booked 25 cases” against him, calling upon the government to look into the matter and withdraw these cases.
Mr. Amjad Ullah Khalid, Maulana Mohammed Naseeruddin, Mr. AsifUmri, Mr. Aleem Khan Falki, Abdus Sattar Mujhaid and Advocate Masood were also present on this occasion.
The JAC also urged the state government to clarify its stand on NRC, CAA and NPR through a Press Conference by Chief Minister KCR.
