Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan said that the Telangana Government was working to fulfill the aspirations and dreams of people in the State.
Addressing the official Republic Day celebrations at Parade Grounds in Secunderabad here on Tuesday, the Governor said several schemes have been launched for the welfare of different sections of the society and they were being implemented with complete transparency and accountability. Listing out various schemes being implemented by the government, he said Rs. 1100 crore were being spent for the welfare of minorities besides setting up education institutions. He said Kalyana Lakshmi and Shaadi Mubarak schemes have helped thousands of poor SC, ST and minorities.
The Governor also made a mention of Mission Bhagiratha, Mission Kakatiya, Grama Jyothi and 2BHK schemes. He said that the State Government was taking measure to generate 25,000 MW of power by 2018. Further, he said Hyderabad would be developed as country’s major hub for Start-Ups. He said efforts were on to develop world-class infrastructure in Hyderabad to turn it into a global city.
Narasimhan appealed to the people to play an active role in the construction of Golden Telangana.
Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao, Union Labour Minister Bandaru Dattatraya, Deputy Chief Ministers Kadiyam Srihari and Mohammed Mahmood Ali, Home Minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy, Nizamabad MP K. Kavitha and other eminent personalities attended the celebrations.
Earlier, the Governor took salute of an impressive parade by the security forces. (INN)
