Telangana Government has finally taken a decision to lift cases against Telangana students, youth and leaders filed during the previous Congress regime in all the 10 districts.
Home Minister Nayani Narsimha Reddy today signed the file relating to 690 cases against the youth from his hospital bed. Presently, the Home Minister is undergoing treatment in Yashoda Hospital here for an illness. Taking cue from Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, the Home Minister asked the officials to lift the cases and take immediate steps.
A GO is likely to be issued in a day or two, according to information.
It may be noted that during general election campaigning, the TRS Chief had promised to lift all the cases on wresting power. The TRS Election Manifesto specifically noted it and wide campaigning was taken up wooing the youth and public alike. To keep that word, the TRS Government has taken steps in this regard. With this, those facing criminal cases may now heave a sigh of relief. (NSS)
