TS Govt will recruit teachers as per HC directives: Dy CM

Deputy Chief Minister (Education) Kadiam Srihari on Saturday said that the Telangana Government would recruit teachers on the basis of 10 old districts as directed by the High Court.

The Deputy CM said the detailed judgment of High Court would be reviewed and modified notification for teachers’ recruitment would be issued based on its directions. Speaking to media persons after laying foundation stone for the new building for Dr.B.R. Ambedkar Open University here, he said that lakhs of jobless youth have been desperately waiting for recruitments. Therefore, he said teachers’ recruitment would be completed without any further delay.

Kadiam claimed that the recruitment on the basis of new 31 districts was aimed at benefiting Tribals as maximum number of posts are vacant in Asifabad, Gadwal, Nagar Kurnool, Sangareddy  and Jai Shankar Bhupalpally. However, he said in view of objections raised by the High Court recruitment would be done with old system. As directed the by the court, he said the last date for acceptance of applications would be extended.

Speaking about the development of universities in Telangana, the Deputy CM alleged that the previous governments had completely neglected the education sector. He said present TRS Government has released Rs. 420 crore for the universities which includes Rs. 20 crore for BRAOU. He said the new examination block in the BRAOU was being constructed at a cost of Rs. 6.22 crore.

The Deputy CM also informed that the Committee of Vice-Chancellors has submitted its report on vacancies in different universities and the government has authorised universities to fill those vacancies. Further, he said that the government would soon take a decision on increasing the salaries of Contract Assistant and Associate Professors in the universities.
