Minister for IT and Industries K Tarakarama Rao on Saturday said that the state government was encouraging artists in the state and lauded the role played by them in the statehood movement.
Speaking to media after visiting Telangana Kala Mela in Hyderabad, the minister said that the Telangana is famous for various art forms all over the world and the art reflects state’s culture and tradition.
The presentation of the art forms shows Hyderabad in a different picture, KTR said. Stating that there was a need for supporting artists, the minister said the Telangana Government would encourage the art forms to the core and bring every artist to the limelight. He said that the contribution of artists in raising various social issues is of paramount importance. The minister said that the artists played a vital role in creating awareness among the people during statehood movement. The IT minister also stated that Hyderabad should be converted into an attractive city with all facilities for which it is the government’s responsibility to encouraged artistes in a big way he said.
