Telangana Health Minister Dr C Lakshma Reddy on Sunday informed that the State Government was considering inclusion of a chapter on the ill-effects of tobacco in the school syllabus.
Speaking after flagging off 2 KM walk organized by Telangana Tobacco Control Board in association with Indian Dental Association on the Necklace Road on the occasion of World Anti-Tobacco Day, the Minister said that the young generation should be enlightened about the ill-effects of tobacco. He appealed to the people to give up consumption of tobacco in all forms. He said that the consumption of tobacco leads to several fatal diseases.
Laxma Reddy said that the anti-tobacco chapter should a part of school curriculum to ensure that children do not even try its consumption when they grow up. (INN)
