Roads and Buildings Minister Tummala Nageshwara Rao on Sunday announced that the State Government would spend Rs. 2,000 crore for the construction and repairs of roads across the Telangana State.
Speaking to media persons after laying foundation stone for drainage works worth Rs. 70 lakh in Shadnagar of Mahabubnagar district, the minister said that the government was improving the road networks across the State. He said initiatives have been taken for improvement and expansion from single to double lane and four-laning of roads.
Tummala also defended the proposed policy of cheap liquor and said it was aimed at eradicating the menace of ‘gudamba’. However, he said that the opposition was targeting the State Government only to draw cheap publicity. (INN)
