TS Govt seeks Rs. 422 Cr for Devadula Project

Telangana Irrigation Minister T. Harish Rao called on Union Additional Secretary for Water Resources Nikhilesh Shiv in New Delhi on Friday and demanded Rs. 422 crore for the completion of Devadula Project.

Harish Rao said that the Devadula Project could not be completed without the active support of Central Government. He also sought Rs. 5,887 crore for the completion of canals work for SRSP. He said that the Centre should provide Rs. 978 crore for the modernisation of Nizam Sagar project. Further, Rs. 456 crore were required under AIBP funds.

The Additional Secretary has assured to provide required assistance to Telangana Government. He also praised the Mission Kakatiya project and said that the programme would be highly beneficial for those dependent n minor irrigation. (INN)
