The government has released budget for honourarium to Imams and Muezzins, Iftar party, Ramadan Package and whitewashing and construction and repair of Masajid. Rs. 23.75 Cr have been released to Waqf Board under Ramadan Package as the first quarterly budget of the current financial year.
Chief Executive Officer Waqf Board Mohammed Asadullah told that process of releasing honourarium to imams and muezzins will be compete before Eid ul Fitr. Complete amount including arrears will be released as Ramadan gift. He further informed that Rs. 5 Cr was allocated as grant in aid to masajid and Eidgahs this year under which Rs. 50 lakh will be released to each district. The amount will be released within two days.
Iftar and dinner will be arranged in 200 masajid of city and districts simultaneously with CM’s Iftar party for which 2 lakh is being released for each masjid. This will be complete by June 23, he said.
