Telangana government has released 121.35 Cr for scholarships and fee-reimbursement of minority students. The budget was released under planned expenditure of the state. Special Secretary Minority Welfare Telangana issued order on Wednesday in this connection. Finance Department had sanctioned 121.45 Cr to Minority Welfare to pay scholarship and fee reimbursement under FAST scheme and Minority Welfare released the budget on Wednesday.
Director Minority Welfare Telangana was requested to ensure implementation of these schemes and submit a report to the government within the prescribed period. It must be noted that Minority students are deprived of scholarship and fee-reimbursement for the past two years while the government has not issued guidelines for implementation of the scheme during current year.
