Getting two steps further to the World Health Organisation’s stipulated quota of 55 litres of pure water per head per day, the Telangana government is all set to supply 100 litres of pure water per head per day through its prestigious Telangana Drinking Water Supply Project (Water Grid).
According to government sources, WHO’s latest norms put the minimum quantity of water to be supplied per head per day is 70 litres, out of which only 55 litres is purified water for drinking purpose and the remaining 15 litres not purified water for other uses.
But, the Telangana government has planned to supply 100 litres of pure water per head per day in villages, 130 litres in municipalities and 150 litres in municipal corporations under the Water Grid scheme.
The government will provide drinking water tap connection to every household in Telangana.
