Telangana government has decided to form separate Waqf Tribunal for the state. Secretary Minority Welfare Ahmed Nadeem issued orders in this connection. Split of Waqf Tribunal was inevitable following bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh.
Government has approved formation of separate Waqf Tribunal in accordance with Andhra Pradesh Re-organisation Bill 2014. As per the GO, tribunal chairman will be of session judge rank. One of the members will be a state civil servant. Person having know-how of Muslim Personal Law and other laws will be nominated as member.
