TS Govt moves SC on Krishna waters

The Telangana Government today moved Supreme Court on Krishna Tribunal allocations.
In a petition, the TRS government urged the apex court to direct the Krishna Tribunal to allocate Krishna waters afresh and protect the interests of Telangana.
The government is learnt to have argued that the AP Government was denying its rightful share of waters. The court adjourned the case to February 11. The court issued orders to Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Maharashtra to file affidavits on inquiry eligibility and give reply in four weeks on the issue. Karnataka and Maharashtra argued that Krishna waters’ controversy was not confined to them.
Telangana Government wanted the court to hear its arguments also. When Telangana Government urged its inclusion into Babili Monitoring Committee and removal of AP, the court transferred the case to a three-member bench. (NSS)
