The Telangana Government on Monday modified a few guidelines for the ‘Shaadi Mubarak’ scheme which provides one time financial assistance of Rs 51,000/- for the marriage of girls belonging to minority communities.
As per the modified orders, the application should be submitted at least one month in advance from the date of marriage. While no changes have been made in the eligibility criteria, some relaxations have been given in the procedure for application and processing. The unmarried girls of minority community should be a resident of Telangana State and should have completed 18 years of age at the time of marriage. The wedding of the said girl shall be on or after October 2, 2014.
The combined income of the Parents shall not exceed Rs. 2,00,000/- per annum. The applicants shall apply online for the Telangana “Shaadi Mubaarak” by accessing the website at the following site: http://epasswebsite.cgg.gov.in through any MEESEVA Center. As per modified orders, the applications can be directly submitted at the EDs/DMWOs office.
The submission of Aaadhar card of the bride and bridegroom and wedding card has been made optional. The applicants need to submit other documents including Birth Certificate, Community Certificate, Income Certificate, scanned copy of the first page of Bank Pass Book (Saving Account) containing the photo of the Bride and the account details in the name of the bride and in cases where the wedding has been performed, the applicants need to submit letter by the Khazi / Gram Panchayat / Church / Mosque / any other authority / Institution which has performed the marriage.
