The Telangana Government is planning to increase the ex-gratia and compensation amounts for the families of those killed or injured in terrorist and extremists attacks in the State.
The issue was discussed during the meeting of Cabinet Sub-Committee held at the State Secretariat on Saturday. The meeting, chaired by Home Minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy, was attended by Information Technology Minister K. Tarakarama Rao, Director General of Police Anurag Sharma, Intelligence IG Shivadhar Reddy and other senior officials. There was unanimity among Committee members on increasing the ex-gratia amount for the families of victims. It was decided that the best practices being implemented by other States in this regard would be adopted by the Telangana Government so as to prepare a best package.
The Cabinet Sub-Committee also discussed the need to increase age limit for candidates appearing for various posts to be filled by the State Police Recruitment Board. (INN)
