TS govt grants Rs 5 crore for ornament to Balaji

The Telangana Government has sanctioned Rs 5 crore for presenting a ‘gold offering’ to “Sri Venkateshwara Swamy”, the presiding deity of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam, in Andhra Pradesh State, in connection with fulfillment of Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao’s vow to the Lord over formation of Telangana State.

The TRS government issued GOMs No 23 on Tuesday ordering the Commissioner of Endowments Department to take immediate action to make gold ornaments “Bangaru Saligrama Haaram and Petala Kante” in Sri Mula Varna Kamalamu Namuna for Sri Venkateshwara Swamy at a total cost of Rs 5 crore, including making charges. The amount will be met from the Common Good Fund of Commissioner of Endowments Department, Telangana, Hyderabad.
