Hyderabad: Continuing its tradition of hosting Iftar parties and distributing gift packs to Muslims during Ramadan, the state government has released Rs. 1 lakh each to 432 masajid of the city to host Iftar parties on June 18, the day which will coincide with the Iftar party to be hosted by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on behalf of state government at the Nizam College Grounds.
A total of Rs. 4.8 Cr has been sanctioned for this purpose. Besides that each masjid will get 500 gift packs of new clothes to be distributed among poor deserving Muslims during Ramadan.
A meeting of masajid committees, local corporators and officials was held on Friday to discus arrangements of state sponsored Iftar parties. The meeting was attended by Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav.
