All Municipal Corporations and Municipalities across Telangana State will provide water supply connection for Re. 1.
The scheme is likley to be launched next week. This was proposed by a Cabinet Sub-Committee which was constituted to study the basic amenities in municipalities and corporations. Roads & Buildings Minister T. Harish Rao and Irrigation Minister T. Harish Rao were among the members of Cabinet Sub-Committee which submitted its report to the Municipal Administration Department.
The Cabinet Sub-Committee felt that simplifying processes and decrease in connection charges would eradicate all illegal water connections in the State and subsequently, the municipalities and corporations could increase their revenues by billing all the connections. (INN)
