Hyderabad: In order to overcome the hurdles in acquisition of lands for Govt. projects, Govt. of Telangana has decided to enact new land acquisition act. Chief Secretary, Dr. Rajiv Sharma issued order constituting a committee to draft the act. Special Chief Secretary of Revenue Dept. will the chairman of the committee. Special Chief Secretary, Irrigation and Law Secretary will be its members. Advocate General or his representative will be special invitee. While drafting the new rule for land acquisition, the amendments made by the Governments of Rajasthan, Kerala and Goa will be kept in mind.
It may be mentioned that Govt. of Telangana is facing a lot of difficulties in acquiring lands for Mallanna Sagar and other irrigation projects.
