TS Govt. to construct marriage halls, assures Mahmood Ali

Hyderabad: Function Halls have become very expensive for wedding ceremonies these days. TS Govt. has now decided to benefit the poor persons by constructing marriage halls. This was disclosed by Mr. Mohammed Mahmood Ali, Dy. CM while replying to the questions posed by city legislators in Assembly on 29th March during question hour.

Mr. Mahmood Ali also informed that District Collectors have constituted managing committees for the construction of marriage halls which includes MRO of the area as convener, 3-4 Muslim personalities of the area as members. Engineering Dept. of the Govt. will be entrusted with the job of construction.

Mr. Mahmood Ali also informed that last year, Rs. 9.87 crore was sanctioned for the construction of 54 marriage halls. This year, Govt. allocated Rs. 15 crore for this purpose. The budget of Urdu Academy was enhanced to Rs. 40 crore which also includes the budget for the construction of marriage halls. Urdu Academy has been given the responsibility of construction of marriage halls.

It may be mentioned that the construction of three marriage halls has already been completed and the work is going on in 13 marriage halls. Tenders have been invited for 37 marriage halls. Mr. Mahmood Ali also informed that Rs. 100116 will be given to a poor Muslim girl for her marriage. The marriage halls will be constructed in the Muslim concentration areas.
