Announcing the provision of housing facility to the journalists, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao today said that they will allot one or two per cent of houses being built for the poor in terms of two bedroom houses, every year.
At a press conference after TRS victory in Warangal byepoll here, KCR stated that there are about 11,000 journalists in Telangana State who will also get the housing facility. Indeed, ‘we are committed to build houses for the poor and will allot some per cent to the scribes as it was decided to give to police staff also every year’ KCR declared. This year the government will build 60,000 houses, next year one lakh houses and then two lakh houses, he said adding that the scribes will get allocation of houses. ‘We are planning to provide shelter to the journalists either free of cost houses on par with the poor or pay some amount based on their income, the chief minister said. He reiterated that the government will conduct Christmas as state festival and distribute clothes to 2 lakhs of Christians on the occasion, followed by lunch. ‘We will extend fine rice facility to college hostels and Kalyan Lakshmi to the BCs and other poor girls’, he added.(NSS)
