To tide over power crisis, the Telangana Government today got into an agreement with BHEL for production of 6,000 MW of power on EPC basis. BHEL officials today called on Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao at Secretariat here and signed a memorandum of understanding with Telangana Genco officials.
TS Genco CMD D Prabhakar Rao and BHEL CMD B Prasada Rao signed the agreement in the presence of the Chief Minister, according to a CMO press release. With this, decks are cleared for production of power at Manuguru and Kothagudem. The power problem is likely to be resolved in a stipulated time, according to sources. The CM is learnt to have asked the officials to take up power production on a war-footing. (NSS)
