TS Govt to allocate Rs. 62,000 Cr under Plan Budget

Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao on Monday announced that an amount of Rs. 62,000 crore would be allocated under Plan Expenditure during Budget 2016-17.

Speaking after laying foundation stone for several developmental programmes in Dubbak of Medak district, the Chief Minister said that development works worth several thousand crores have already been initiated. He said that the pace of development has sent shockwaves among the opposition parties and they are unable understand how the State Government was executing those works and arranging funds. He said that the Telangana State has several sources of revenues and those sources were being utilised effectively.

KCR reminded that the then Chief Minister of united Andhra Pradesh N. Kiran Kumar Reddy had presented his last budget of Rs. 160,000 crore while allocating Rs. 50,000 under Plan. However, he said that the Telangana Government would allocate Rs. 62,000 crore under Plan in its next budget. He also assured that 24×7 power would be provided to all categories of consumers by 2018. Further, the cleaning and restoration of all lakes would be completed within four years.

The Chief Minister announced that by April this year, all households in Nalgonda, Medak and Mahabubnagar would get tap water supply.

Earlier, the Chief Minister laid foundation stone for new buildings of Dubbak High School and Junior College. KCR had studied in the same school. He assured that he would take all measures to turn Dubbak as model Assembly segment in the State. He also announced several sops for the development of Dubbak constituency. (INN)
